SUMMER TERM 2026 Under the sea!
Exciting things have been happening in our classroom during the Easter break.
Our classroom has transformed into an underwater world and we are looking forward to getting fully immersed in our new topic.
We are going to be visiting the Maritime Museum, where we will be hoping to meet the sea sprite 'Oshi'. We will be learning all about lighthouses through the story 'The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch' written by Ronda and David Armitage and making our own disgusting sandwiches.
We will be getting creative, making sea animals, boats, mermaids and using the instruments to create our own under the sea songs.
The children will be planting a bean and learning how to take care of thier them. We will also be watching the transformation of our own caterpillars into butterflies, whilst learning about the life cycle.
Medium term plan 'Under the sea'
Within the early years, we always follow the interests of the children and cannot wait to see where their imaginations take us next.
Within class we follow 'Read, Write Inc' phonics scheme, allowing all children to access and practise their sounds and become confident and competent readers. If you wish to find any more information on our current topics and curriculum please look at our topic web and class timetable.
